Hand-Knotted Rugs
Our hand-knotted rugs are custom made in Nepal, and our weavers create these rugs using various materials including wool, silk, hemp, Alo, Mohair, and nylon. Each hand-knotted rug is considered one-of-a-kind because each weaver has a unique weaving style which accounts for the slight variation from rug to rug. The process of creating a hand-knotted rug is extremely taxing, meticulous work. One rug is often made by several weavers working together and it can take months to complete. The strength of the knots and the durability of the material in hand-knotted wool rugs make them everlasting. If cared for properly, they can become family heirlooms. Hand-knotted rugs are eco-friendly, sustainable, and rarely discarded.
Here are some of our hand-knotted rug designs.
